Going Home
It's almost time to go home. The discharge papers have been filled out. We're just waiting on the bilirubin test to be drawn. Owen, Rhett, Libby, Emmett, and Grandma can't wait to meet him in a few minutes!

Nurses? Co-workers? Sisters?
I can't say enough about how great it always is to have our kids born here. Kim's nurses and co-workers treat us like family every time.

Bath Time with Erin
I need to write a song titled "Bath Time with Erin". Four out of our five kids have all had their first bath with her.

Moving Along
Kim's at a 6+ now. Lights are off. We're both going to try to squeeze in a little nap before things get serious. Good night.

Epidural
The contractions are starting to hurt. After much consideration, Kim has decided to go ahead and get the epidural.

Shooting the Breeze
Kim is just chatting it up with her nurse friends. Anyone want to make a guess on the baby's weight, length, and time of birth?

Getting sleepy
Kim and I are both dozing off. She's been stuck at a 9 for a while now. I'm going to have a few words with this kid when I meet him.

Epidural
Kim was flirting with the idea of going natural like she did with Owen. The flirting didn't last long. I can't watch, so here is a picture of her pretty toenails. Yes, I helped her do those.

Moving slow
Well, it took two hours to get from a 6 to a 7. The nurse just started a low dose of pitocin to get things moving again.

Testing
I haven't posted to the blog in a few years, so this is just a test to see if everything still works.

Happy 6th Birthday Owen!
Owen turned 6 years old on January 5th, but we started the festivities one day early. We went to a place here called Laser Mania. We played laser tag, glow-in-the-dark mini golf, and bumper cars. Everyone had a blast. We ended the night at International House of Pancakes. Owen wanted breakfast for his birthday dinner. Good choice, Owen. We absolutely gorged ourselves. It is definitely time to start Weight Watchers again.
Before we gathered the strength to start Weight Watchers again, we had to get a cake on his actual birthday. Dairy Queen never fails. We love the ice cream cakes.
And finally, here's a video of Owen pulling his own tooth. This is something I could never do. I was on the other side of the house as Kim filmed it. Kleenex-wrapped fingers pulling on a tooth while breaking gum tissue followed by a blood-filled mouth is one of the worst things in the world to me.
Don't ask about the $11 he's holding. Just know that bribery still works in America. I had nothing to do with it.

Picture Update
A comment before I begin: I'm a little upset that our new 10.2 megapixel camera is not producing 10.2 megapixelish pictures. I apologize these are kind of blurry. I need to look at the settings or exchange it for a different one.
Owen and Rhett were supposed to open their new pajamas on Christmas Eve, but they didn't arrive in time, so we let them open their hats and gloves. It's been getting kind of chilly here in St. George, you know, 50 degrees or so.
Here's Owen getting warmed up to start opening presents on Christmas morning. He woke up about 30 minutes earlier than Rhett. The wait was killing him.
The opening of presents went a little something like this: Owen would rip into one of his presents, then it would be Rhett's turn. Rhett would start to open one of his presents, but would get bored in the process, then leave to go see what Owen had just opened. Owen ended up opening everything.
Here's Owen opening my favorite, um, I mean, his favorite present. Constructicon Devastator!!! 6 construction vehicles that transform into one giant Autobot crushing robot!!!
We caught Owen striking this pose multiple times Christmas morning.
Libby's first Christmas. She's a little too young to fully enjoy this play mat, but she'll grow into it.
My adorable kids. Does life get any better than this?
I think she's dreaming about sleeping, or milk, or her dad.
Here are the Christmas pajamas the boys were supposed to open on the 24th.
A little size comparison. We were trying to recreate THIS picture of Owen and Rhett.
